Mad Men won 4 Emmys last night including Outstanding Drama Series for the third consecutive year! Very well deserved as usual. The Emmys were entertaining this year. Jimmy Fallon was a fun host and I enjoyed seeing George Clooney win the Humanitarian Award. He always gives a good speech and even got a standing ovation.
I was glad to see Modern Family won for Best Comedy as I really enjoy that show. I think it's the only network sitcom I watch these days. I was hoping that Curb your Enthusiasm would win but I guess not enough Emmy voters watched it, the Seinfeld reunion notwithstanding!
I just found out that my friend Karen has started to watch Mad Men this season after hearing me go on and on about how great it is for the past 3 years! I take that as a personal triumph!

By the way, Jon Hamm looked great at the Emmys! Is it my imagination, or did his eyes actually sparkle? Ha!
ReplyDeleteJanuary Jones huge blue dress was very colorful but she didn't do anything with her hair - it looked like it needed combing and styling.
Christina Hendricks was spilling out of her dress. It was a pretty lavender color but c'mon, do we really need to see that much cleavage? She is beautiful though.
I read an editorial about Mad Men in the paper today. She makes some good points -

Here is good recap of the Emmys -

I missed the Emmys and am still waiting for the library to come up with the first season of Mad Men. The wait list is so long I might not get it before we move to Hamilton. Hopefully the library system there will have it too!
ReplyDeleteLee, it's good to hear that so many people want to see the 1st season. The show is finally becoming more popular! I hope you can find it at your new library.
ReplyDeleteThe episode last Sunday was the best yet! If Jon Hamm doesn't get the Emmy next time around, then the fix is in!! He's always so good but this time he really topped himself. And Elizabeth Moss was fantastic too. They work so well together.
