4th season of Mad Men premieres tonight!!!
I think AMC's summer series Mad Men is arguably the best show on TV these days. The show takes place in the 60's and revolves around a Manhattan advertising agency. It's very historically accurate, the acting is brilliant, the writing is outstanding, the costumes are fantastic and it's critically acclaimed. Mad Men has won back to back Emmy's and is up for that honor again this year. The only problem is that very few people I know watch Mad Men which frustrates me to no end! Well, now is a good time to start watching since things will have changed since the end of season 3 and you should be able to catch up. There are many blogs that discuss the show including Entertainment Weekly - check out Ken Tucker's reviews of the show on http://www.ew.com/. Anyway, I'll be watching!
I would like to rent past seasons. I tried to watch season 2 or 3 but was having trouble getting into it because I missed knowing the back story. But maybe I will try again.
It is a good idea to watch Mad Men from the beginning (all past seasons are on DVD) but I thought maybe if you watch the first episode tonight you might be able to follow it. It's a brilliant show!
Mad Men was excellent last night as usual! Jackson even watched some of it. I've been trying to get him interested so he knows the basic storylines. I'm not going to count on him to watch regularly though.
I really liked it, too. I liked the ending when Don and his ex-wife (Betty? you can tell it is my first season!!) walked away in opposite directions. Great show.

My score was 30, not bad! :)
Parade has a really good article about Jon Hamm in the Sunday paper today.

ReplyDeleteNext week is the season finale of Mad Men. Can't wait to see what happens but I'll have serious withdrawal when it's over!
ReplyDeleteSunday is the last day of the 4th season. Wonder if there will be any big surprises or cliffhangers? I'll be tuned in for sure!!!
ReplyDeleteI have my DVR set to record tomorrow night's episode. This season went by much too fast. :-(
