One of my favorite shows from the 80's was the comedy Cheers. I especially loved the early episodes with Sam (Ted Danson) and Diane (Shelley Long). They were a great pair and had such good chemistry. I lost interest in the show when Shelley Long left in 1987. She got too big for her britches and thought she could have a movie career but it never really took off. I also really enjoyed the lovable character Coach, played by the late Nicholas Colasanto.
Cheers is being shown on the Hallmark channel these days. I'm sure you'll enjoy it if you've missed it somehow! Here is a clip of the wonderful theme song (one of the best ever)!

I used to really enjoy watching Cheers! I never got to see the final episode. I think it aired the year I moved to Germany.
ReplyDeleteI visited the bar in Boston, once. The exterior was used in the show, but not the actual interior of the bar.
I also visited the bar in Boston. It was fun to see it and they wanted to talk to me but I was too shy. I was alone at the time and on a bus tour of Boston. But I remember that my eyes lit up and I thought, Wow! I get to see this which I saw so many times on TV. Gladys
ReplyDeleteI've never been to Boston - always wanted to go there. At the Minneapolis airport they had a bar set up to look like Cheers. Not sure why it was in Minneapolis unless I've remembered wrong.
ReplyDeleteI read that the exterior shots were of a bar called The Bull & Finch Pub which is now a tourist attraction.
