Flowers in the front
Since I posted some pictures of the lavender in our backyard, I thought I'd add a shot of the flowers we have in the front of our house. I like to plant fuchsia in the front since they thrive in partial shade. Fuchsia often attracts hummingbirds and I was happy to see one once. They are unique looking flowers.

Joy, your house looks so pretty! And I didn't know fuchsia attracted hummingbirds. Maybe I will hang some outside our new house.
ReplyDeleteJoy, your front door is very inviting. All you have to do is give your fuchsia enough water and those beautiful blossoms will keep coming.
ReplyDeleteMaybe, you remember the plant we had hanging out front when you were a teenager.
Lee, you must be excited about moving into your new house! I'm happy for you!
ReplyDeleteI could probably find a picture of our fuchsia we had many years a go. Winter is coming to Iowa - you are lucky to live in the Pacific Northwest. They told us to pick all the flowers we want because we expect a frost soon.
ReplyDeleteIt is definitely getting cold in Iowa! I hope we don't really get a freeze this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI saw fuschia in Ireland and it grows as a tall hedge, maybe 8 feet tall. I was totally surprised by this! I don't know how it is related to the little pots of fuschia, but the flowers were definitely the same.
