Best OSCAR show ever!

All the songs nominated were lovely this year. I was especially moved by Gwenyth Paltrow's preformance from her movie Country Strong. I haven't seen that movie yet but it's now higher on my list!
I think I was too hard on my review of Inception. We went to Paris and the movie was filmed in places we had been. I should see it again!
The Winners this year were easy to predict. I correctly predicted 17 of the nominations. I usually always get the Best Supporting Actress winner wrong! It was great to see Kirk Douglas present the award to Melissa Leo!
Great to see Billy Crystal! It was neat the way they had Bob Hope hosting from years ago; Billy told a great story about meeting Bob Hope when he hosted years ago.
I saw the BAFTA Awards (held in London) for the first time this year. I thought it was brilliant! The Oscars this year were equally wonderful!
The Finale -
Enthusiastic preformance by the children (from New York). They sang Over the Rainbow. All the new Oscar winners came out and sang along at the end.
The 83rd Annual Academy Awards from 2010 will always be my favorite! I've been watching the Oscars every year since I was 10!

I agree with you, Joy. This was the best Academy Awards ever!! What was there not to enjoy - I enjoyed it all and never was bored like in other years.
ReplyDeleteI actually did watch part of the Oscars, Joy! We got to see the Bob Hope segment, and Paltrow's song. I am really happy that Colin Firth won the Oscar. An excellent performance in a superb movie.
ReplyDeleteI watched the last hour. I really like Anne and thought all her dresses were so pretty. I was very impressed with Natalie Portman's acceptance speech. I think she remembered everyone. And she seems so sweet. Oprah looked very pretty too.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun to write about the Oscars this year! It really was one of the best..:)
ReplyDeleteJoy -- this is Russ reporting in! What a lovely day we had at Todd's birthday party. I'm new to posting on a blog, so you'll need to advise me on what can or cannot be shared. I enjoyed listening to you share some of your life with me this afternoon -- thank you for the gift of self! What a wonderful blog site you have created! Artful; inspiring; and so tasteful! Well done!! I'll list it as a favorite, and try to be participatory. Thanks for inviting me! Oh, yes, I too thought the Oscars this year were tidy, a-political, and void of attitude, unlike previous years. A refreshing wind from Hollywood.
ReplyDeleteHi Russ - welcome to my blog! Thanks for your interest and lovely comments!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed the Oscars this year too. It was a lot of fun. :)
