Remembering Sherman Hemsley & Chad Everett

Actor Sherman Hemsley, best known for playing George Jefferson on All in the Family and the spin-off The Jeffersons died on July 24th at the age of 74 of natural causes.  The Jeffersons ran from 1975 to 1985.  Here is a great clip from the show -

Actor Chad Everett also passed away this week.  He was 75 and had been suffering from lung cancer.  Chad was best known for playing dashing Dr. Joe Gannon on the TV drama Medical Center in the 70's.  That show ran from 1969 to 1976.  He also had a memorable role in "Airplane 2: the Sequel"  from 1982 -

Mad Men nominated for Emmy's again!

Mad Men has been nominated for 17 Emmy's this year including Outstanding Lead Actor for Jon Hamm, Outstanding Actress for Elisabeth Moss, Outstanding Supporting Actor for Jared Harris, Outstanding Supporting Actress for Christina Hendricks, Outstanding Directing for Phil Abraham and three Outstanding Writing noms.  Mad Men reigns as the only television series in cable history to win the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series for 4 years in a row (2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011).

Rest In Peace Andy Griffith

I was sad to hear that Andy Griffith passed away today at the age of 86.  I posted several clips from The Andy Griffith Show earlier on this blog of Andy singing.  I hope you check them out in his honor today.  It is such a wonderful, classic show that still holds up today.
